I taught when they that drinking red wine as a health benefit for our body, I taught that was a joke. Actually it has a health benefits for us when drink moderately. There are some studies that suggested the benefits of drinking moderate amount red wine lowers the risk of heart attack by 30 to 50% for those people who are in the middle age and if already suffered from one red wine might prevent additional heart attacks in the near future. Other studies also attest that it can also raise HDL cholesterol (the Good cholesterol) and block LDL cholesterol (the Bad cholesterol). It also helps prevent blood clots and lower the blood vessel damage because of fat deposits. Red wine is good for the heart because it is rich source of antioxidants flavonoid phenolics particularly resveratrol increases HDL cholesterol and prevent blood clotting, this can be found in skin of the grapes and seeds and the flavonoids tend to show properties in helping to prevent blood clots and plaques formation in arteries. The polyphenols in the wine are excellent antioxidants. It lowers the total cholesterol and blood pressure, decrease the risks of cancer, stimulate the immune system and also have an anti-bacterial property. And also as anti-stress because wine does have this calming influence.
The net effect of drinking red wine at least 2 to 3 glasses a day might result in a healthier life. Always remember to drink moderately. If too much alcohol in our body can result in a higher blood pressure that can cause hypertension.
